In honor of my long-time friends in Urbanites calling it a day, here is a video of the band performing I Never Did, I Never Will live at the Art Theater, with special guests State & Madison. This was originally shot and released as DVD-exclusive bonus content for my film, You Can’t Rewind The Years.
Thanks for the rad times guys, I’m looking forward to your next chapter!
Two weeks ago, my dad and I made our annual flight to Oshkosh, WI, to attend EAA’s 2012 Airventure. It’s honestly one of my favorite places in the world. Here is a short mash-up of footage I shot along the way. A huge “Thank you” goes out to our new friends at GoPro for rigging out plane with cameras for the airshow. I am completely hooked on them now.

Ok, so this is my long overdue hodgepodge post. The last two months have been a complete blur. Here are just a few photographs from my adventures. I don’t normally caption pictures, but in this case I really need to.
1. Flying by Chicago, on our way to EAA’s Airventure in Oshkosh, WI.
2. The Flatfoot 56 dudes at their album release show in Chicago.
3. Shiny Toy Guns killing it at an outdoor show in Chicago.
4. I Am The Avalanche getting the crowd pumped in Philadelphia.
5. Our new friends at GoPro outfitted our plane with cameras for the airshow in Oshkosh, WI. (Footage coming in the next post.)
6. My dad with our plane after flying in the warbird airshow at Oshkosh. (de Havilland Chipmunk with a beautiful Boeing Stearman in the background.)
7. My dad and I in an aerial photo shoot for Warbird Digest magazine.
8. 5-time Grammy winning bassist, Victor Wooten, sound checking with his band in Ann Arbor, MI.
9. Hanging with tattoo legend, Oliver Peck, in NYC.
10. Da Bears preseason opener against the Broncos at Solider Field.
Here is the mini-documentary I shot and directed for MxPx’s 20th Anniversary. Fans often ask me which project has been my favorite to work on, and that’s a really tough question to answer. All of them have been special in their own right, but I think this one caught me the most off-guard. Mike and I had always planned on showing this as part of the band’s intro at their anniversary shows, but when I saw it all come together in Philly, it was truly emotional. It was the culmination of the band’s involvement in my life for the past 15 years. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did making it.
There are certain milestones, or “bucket-list” items, that you don’t preemptively add to your list, simply because you didn’t realize they were even possible. This weekend can best be summed up like that. I flew out with MxPx, to New York and Philly, to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. I watched my music video playing on Times Square, (video to come), and to the cheers of fans, grinned as my 20th Anniversary doc was projected on a movie screen before the band took the stage. Both were so humbling, and moved me emotionally. I could literally write you 50 pages on how and why this band has impacted my life, but I’ll spare you. I’ll simply say that being a part of this band’s creative team over the last 3 years has been nothing short of an honor, and the only thing I cherish more than the music is the friendships.

“Snaproll Sessions began as a way to capture and share intimate acoustic performances. As I’ve worked and spent time with bands, music is always being played, even when the cameras stop rolling. I wanted to strip away all the production and film these musicians playing their songs the way they originally wrote them. Snaproll Sessions are my way to honor the artists and friends that inspire me.”
