Snaproll Sessions [009.2]
Smoking Popes - Hey Renée [Acoustic]
Directed by Bryan Buchelt [www.snaprollstudios.com - @SnaprollStudios]

“Snaproll Sessions began as a way to capture and share intimate acoustic performances. As I’ve worked and spent time with bands, music is always being played, even when the cameras stop rolling. I wanted to strip away all the production and film these musicians playing their songs the way they originally wrote them. Snaproll Sessions are my way of honoring the artists and friends that inspire me.”

Last week I headed to Chicago to hang with my buddy, Jimmie Deeghan, on the Bedroom to Stage Tour. As always, it was great catching up and capturing some songs. I ended up getting to know the Sparks The Rescue guys, and filmed a live session with them as well. If you get a chance, head out and support the tour!! They are killer musicians and even better dudes.

My Top 20 Essential Films

image

Last week I was asked to make a list of the top 20 records I would recommend someone listen to before they died. I really enjoyed the process of searching through my record collection and emotionally reconnecting with some of my favorite art in the world. I decided to continue the punishment of decision-making, and create a list of my top 20 essential films, (documentaries excluded.) As per my last post, I won’t be doing a write-up on each, I’ll let the films speak for themselves.

In no particular order, from left to right:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Top Gun
Almost Famous
Alien
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Star Wars: A New Hope
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Stand By Me
Sunshine
Back to the Future
Elizabethtown
The Dark Knight
500 Days of Summer
Gladiator
Platoon
High Fidelity
Children of Men
SLC Punk
Night of the Living Dead

*If part of a trilogy, assume all three films.
